Apesar de algumas leis pelo mundo serem bem rígidas e complexas em questão do direito de cidadania, podemos dizer que o processo italiano é bem flexível, já que mesmo com algumas condições implementadas, é possível sim reconhecer a cidadania italiana, segundo a lei, sem limite de parentesco para todas as gerações.
Para que a sua cidadania italiana seja reconhecida, você precisa analisar duas condições:
A primeira condição é em questão da naturalização brasileira de seu antepassado. Ele pode ser seu avô, bisavô ou até mesmo trisavô (já que não há um limite de geração como vimos acima). Se ele tiver se naturalizado brasileiro antes de ter filhos, os seus descendentes não têm o direito da cidadania italiana, mas caso ele tenha se naturalizado depois de seus filhos, seus descendentes têm, sim, o direito à cidadania italiana.
A segunda condição importante é em questão da Via Materna. Se a sua antepassada de via materna teve um filho após 1º de janeiro de 1948, o reconhecimento da cidadania italiana via judicial ainda é possível, mas caso o oposto tenha ocorrido, o reconhecimento será levado adiante via administrativa.
